The FIFPRO Team of the Year, honoring the top male and female footballers, is an accolade bestowed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association Players' Union. Initially recognized as the FIFPRO World 11, this prestigious honor was introduced in 2005 to celebrate the finest footballers as chosen by their peers. In 2009, a collaboration with FIFA led to a rename to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," also known as the FIFA Team of the Year, while maintaining the same voting process. Commencing in 2024, FIFPRO will independently oversee the award, reverting to its original title, the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year, an accolade that stands alone as the sole globally recognized honor entirely selected by footballers, is determined through ballots cast by players from across the globe. The eligibility for the award is based on player performances between August 4, 2025, and July 19, 2026, with a minimum requirement of participation in 30 official matches during this period.
The final lineup of 11 players will consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, with the remaining position filled by the non-goalkeeper player who receives the highest number of votes.
